Then vs. Now

theartshowMy first official post on LiveJournal was posted on March 7th, 2010. I made an account in order to post graphics (mostly icons). Unfortunately, the very first icons are (practically) gone, as I used to post the icons on Tinypic and later, Photobucket. Thankfully, in the August of 2011, I started to simply upload the pictures on Livejournal, so they are all visible!
Then
These icons are from 2011-2013 and pretty much perfectly show my iconing style. Same as now, my icons were minimalist, with no unnatural colouring or decorative textures. I definitely struggled while finding the right colouring for icons sometimes, and oversharpened/undersharpened my icons, hence why I didn't put in just my best icons here :D. I only really used techniques like blocking, text, layers, decorative textures when the challenge forced me to :D (Honestly, the same is now :D)
Now
These icons are from 2018-2020 and I'm quite proud of all of them! While browsing my userpage, I noticed I practically never use text anymore, which is because I don't participate in 20in20's anymore, which were highly challenging and actually really nice, but I usually don't have enough time to participate in them anymore :( However, I noticed I use vibrant colouring much more often, and when I do, it works way better than in my early icons. I also think my texture use is improved and it doesn't overwhelm the icons badly like it used to before.
