INTERVIEW
1.) What is your career?
My job title is "Researcher", though the actual job description is a little....random. I work fo a company that makes maps (like you would find in the gas station) https://www.universalmap.com/ and have spent the last few months doing more administrative things than actual research/cartography. But I should be getting back into that, soon. Maybe.
Befoe that I worked at Board Walk Resort at Walt Disney World, in the Recreation department. That entailed renting out life jackets and doing arts & crafts, taking care of the pool areas and driving a boat at night, which took guests into EPCOT to see the fireworks.
I studied Historic Preservation in college, as well as history and architectual design. Mostly, my goal in life was to do one of three things:
1. Work in the Disney Archives
2. Work in the NASA Archives
3. Work with the This Old House guys
2.) What made you start creating art?
I had a wild hair and joined an icontest community for Tin Man. The first few icons were REALLY bad and have gotten slightly better.... but not enough to place in most competitions. Sadly, I keep entering.
3.) What brought you to Livejournal? Did you follow a fandom onto here or did you join specifically to use the journal aspect and write blogs?
A friend of mine from Yahoo!Groups (bizarra here on LJ) was talking about it and sent me an invite. I signed up and didn't do much with it. Popped in every few months with a "I keep forgetting it's here"-post and started to poke around a little more after meeting a co-worker who had an LJ. My love affair with LJ began the night of Dec 2, 2007, aka the night Tin Man aired on Sci-Fi. Cheesy as it sounds, my life hasn't been the same since.♥
4.) What is your all time favorite movie? If you can't sum it down to one then what is your top 5?
The Happiest Millionare, Disney 1967. I don't have a memory that doesn't include knowledge of this movie. It is, hands down, by far, 100% my favorite movie. Though I may not have made that clear. :)
For what it's worth...
2. On the Town
3. White Christmas
4. Ghostbusters
5. Back to the Beach
5.) If you can remember, what was your first ship that you loved in a TV show and why did you love it so much?
I can't say I recall a first pairing... I do know that one of the earliest would have been Lee Stetson and Amanda King (Scarecrow and Mrs King) because it's a show I remember watching in my "early" years. I base most of it on the fact that I thought Bruce Boxleitner was dreamy and all hell and I wanted to be Kate Jackson because she got to be around him all day.
Then again... I was five. :)
6.) Let's say you're in some crazy alternate universe where TV shows and Movies are real and aren't actors playing characters, which TV show and/or Movies would you want to be apart of and why?
Oh, if that ain't a stumper! Okay....so after about 15 minutes of thinking on it... and I'm still not convinced I won't think of "OMG THAT ONE!" as soon as I sned this back... I think I'd have to go with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, specifically. Mostly for that first look at Diagon Alley. I think to just spend a day in-that-world....
That would be awesome.
7.) If you could meet any actor/actress and spend an entire day with them, who would it be and why?
Oh that's easy: Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond. And, if Stig happens to be there, too, I'm fine with that. Whether it's a road trip or just standing around and watching paint dry, I think that it would be fantastic to see what the three of them are like when the cameras are off, not to mention when they're on.
Those three make me forget to breathe, sometimes. ♥
8.) At this very moment, what is your favorite song and why?
Skipper Dan by Weird Al Yankovic because I've been on the Jungle Cruise and I've done the speil practice (though it was for an attraction at EPCOT, but still) and, while I wasn't working Attractions at WDW, I know exactly what they go through on a daily basis. So, my love goes out to Weird Al for that piece of EPIC. ♥
9.) If you were on a desert island and there were two people with you, one being someone you know (loved on or friend) and the other being a character from a TV show/Movie who would these two be and why?
Well.. hell. I guess it depends on the status of the deserted island because the first thought would be my brother because we'd at least be able to talk about stuff we both understand. But, then I'm thinking I'd rather wait out a rescue with bizarra, because we also would have stuff to talk about, but it would all be fandom-related and that would be awesome.
For a character... well, I don't know. I think.... Kurt Austin, who is actually a character from a book, but it's from the Dirk Pitt universe, which is Sahara (with Matthew McConnahey) so technically, that would count right?
Actually that's a lie.
My brother and MacGyver because... yeah. Much love to bizarra of course. ♥
10.) Totally random but what is your favorite gum?
I don't do gum, actually. But that's because I have a bum jaw and chewing is rather painful. Though, back in the day, Trident had a flavor called "Fruit". It was mostly bad-ass and promptly discontinued. *sigh*
